Arabesque III is from a cycle of works which explore the auditory capacities of the human ear. They are comparable to Berio's Sequenza series in that they are all for different instruments and through the use of various extended techniques investigate sonic perception, particularly with regard to resonance and cognition of unknown sound events. The wide palette of timbres employed in Arabesque III create a fascinating collage of the unknown.
